Message from the Director

As its name implies, it is a generalist programme that addresses in an integrated and systematic way the most relevant issues of management. It is intended preferably to boards with higher education in other areas of knowledge or even without higher education, performing management functions in their organisations. The General Management Course uses a very pragmatic approach and strong adhesion to the reality of our businesses. To this purpose, there is the great contribution of the quality of Católica faculty which consists of teacher who, because they interact a lot with businesses, apply what they teach and, therefore, very effectively articulate the theory and its application.

Objectives
• Provide participants with a comprehensive and systemic perspective of the management of organisations;
• Provide participants with an understanding and mastery of the main tools to support decision-making in the various functional areas of organisations;
• To develop in participants a strategic view of the business that allows them to better understand the critical success factors of organisations.

Who attends
People with or without academic training, from different areas who wish to acquire and develop key skills in management and managers who wish to refresh or deepen their knowledge of management in a global perspective.

Candidates Profile

Applicants must have a high education degree. Candidates who do not have this requirement may be accepted provided their background and knowledge acquired by professional experience justify such admission. The process of selection and ranking of candidates will be done according to the requirements defined in the Regulation governing this training and always based on curricular and professional judgment, taking into account the submission order of the respective applications.

Programme Outline

Seminars and management games
Throughout the programme there is a series of seminars on topics covered in the various course subjects. Entrepreneurs or managers of companies specialised in those topics are guest speakers. At the end there will be a management simulation game conducted by SDG.

I opted for the General Management Course of Católica Porto Business School, in the perspective of reviving some subjects, updating concepts related to my education and also to my professional career. Payment policy

When applying it should be paid 10% of the programme's amount. The remaining amount must be settled in accordance with the payment schedule set. VAT at the legal rate must be added to all prices.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of an entry within 15 days prior to the start of the programme will lead to no reimbursement of the registration fee. A no-show or cancellation of a registration after the start of the programme involves its full payment. In certain circumstances, the Católica Porto Business School may postpone or cancel the implementation of a programme and in that case shall return in full all the amounts charged.

Special conditions

The attendance fee will have a 10% discount in case there are two enrolments from the same institution or 15% for three or more enrolments. Former students of Catholic University and EGE - Business Management School will benefit from a 10% discount. AEP Members will have a 10% discount and the associated AEP Plus benefit of a deduction of 13%. Discounts are not cumulative.

Prompt payment will benefit from an additional 5% discount.
